Ewald Wilhelm Hubert Mataré (1887-1965), a German sculptor, graphic artist and painter.

His work focuses on stylised animal sculptures and sacred commissioned works.

In 1946 he was head of the sculpture class at the Düsseldorf Academy of Arts, where he was professor until his retirement in 1957. His students included Joseph Beuys.
