Looking for Beuys in Izmir

Collective  B is a group of eight academics and artists living and working in Izmir. The project“Looking for Beyus in Izmir“  will be carried out in three stages:

Performance I: “The lost railway route” | The Collective B  members will perform a commemorative ritual by walking from the beginning to the end of this abandoned railway in İzmir -Buca and talking about Beuys.

 

Performance II: “Did you see ever this man?” | The Collective B members will show a photocopied picture of Beuys to people on the street  in various parts of İzmir asking: “Did you see ever this man?”.

 

Performance III: “1 May 1972 Berlin- 1 May 2021 İzmir: Sweeping up” | The Collective B members will sweep various squares in Izmir, this time in 2021 as Beuys did on May 1, 1972 in Berlin.

 

All these performances will be recorded with photos and videos. In this process, each member will also produce his or her own individual art work. As a result, an exhibition will be organized.
